Elementary School Curriculum

Overview

BJU Press Curriculum is used in Kindergarten through 5th grade. It provides a biblically integrated, academically rigorous program that nurtures critical thinking, creativity, and spiritual growth. The math curriculum develops problem-solving skills and conceptual understanding through engaging activities and real-world applications. Reading and English Language Arts focus on phonics, grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension, fostering a love for literature and effective communication. Science encourages exploration and curiosity through hands-on experiments and a creation-based perspective, while social studies integrates history, geography, and civics with a biblical worldview. The Bible curriculum emphasizes foundational truths, character development, and practical application of Scripture to guide students in their faith journey.

Middle School Curriculum

Overview

Middle School is a crucial time in the development of students, both academically and emotionally. Our curriculum allows teachers to help students advance academically while still taking into account their emotional development needs. Teachers have high expectations of students while still being able to care for them and help make sure they are successful in all areas of growth.

High School Curriculum

Overview

Overview: First Odessa Christian Academy believes in preparing High School students for college and for life, and our curriculum choices are designed to do that. Our smaller class sizes allow for more individualized instruction while still maintaining the expectation of academic rigor for all students. We expect much from our students, but we also make sure all students are set up for success!
